Spanish Club

Mission and Goals

  • To provide an encouraging and safe environment for people who are committed to practicing and studying the Spanish language as well as learning about various Hispanic cultures
  • To augment the current Spanish curriculum at WCC by offering study groups and informal tutoring during meetings
  • To celebrate the diversity of WCC and actively promote patience, tolerance, and understanding of other cultures by providing a forum for education and healthy debate

  • Cinco de Mayo
  • Concert at UW to see Lila Downs
  • Salsa dance class
  • Movie at Pickford
  • End of the year pizza party
  • Fundraiser to help children in Nicaragua

  • Guest speaker from Peru
  • 2 Dance Classes
  • Valentines Celebration
  • Annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta including food, music, and dance class
  • Field trip to Seattle Art Museum to view Picasso exit
  • Annual Day of the Dead event

  • Piñata making
  • Developing and practicing Spanish conversational skills
  • Listening to short stories (in Spanish)
  • Listening to Latin American and Spanish music
  • Preparing and eating Hispanic cuisine
  • Planning future events/presentations
