Physical Therapist Assistant Club

The Student Physical Therapist Assistant (SPTA) club of Whatcom Community College is an organization established to:

  • cultivate and promote the art and science of physical therapy within the Whatcom SPTA program and general student community
  • provide an on-line platform for communication and the exchange of ideas to address the challenges faced by PTA students in both hybrid and on-campus programs
  • give program-oriented PTA students a sense of belonging to the WCC campus
  • keep PTA students abreast of what's going on politically in healthcare reform and how reform affects the PTA job market

The SPTA Club is open to any WCC student who is interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy.

To join just access the site by going to: http://wccsptaclub.ning.com. You will need to join to participate in the club meetings and forums.

Format:
WCC is one of the few colleges in the country offering both on-campus and hybrid PTA programs. The hybrid students learn on-line; coming together 3 times per quarter for weekend labs and exams. This non-traditional classroom presents unique challenges. The on-line communication and meeting format serves to bring the hybrid and on-campus program students together for the purpose of reaching common goals.

Meetings:
The SPTA club NING is open at all times for the exchange of ideas, posting questions and reading helpful information.

The SPTA club meets online each month at http://wccsptaclub.ning.com. Meetings are opened at 10:00 AM on the 3rd Monday and close at 10:00 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
