COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The Whatcom Volunteer Center enrolling service-learning students

WCC's Service-Learning Program partners with many dedicated nonprofit organizations in Whatcom County. We work together as co-educators, bettering our community through meaningful service and experiential learning. The Service-Learning Program aims for mutually beneficial partnerships. Our goal is to help further the missions of the organizations while meeting the learning goals of the students and fostering civic-responsibility. If you are from a local nonprofit organization and are interested in student service-learners, please view the information below. We look forward to working with you.

 Benefits of service-learning for organizations:

  • Gain reliable, skilled volunteers
  • Secure future volunteers, as those involved are more likely to volunteer in the future
  • Meet more needs as volunteers are provided for jobs that would not otherwise get done
  • Be a part of the education process of students
