### Unsolved Math Problems

Catalan's Conjecture predicts that 8 and 9 are the only consecutive perfect powers among positive integers. The conjecture, which dates back to 1844, was proven by the Swiss mathematician Preda Mih. The proof appeared as an article electronically published on September 5, 2003 in the journal: BULLETIN OF THE AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY (New Series), Volume 41, Number 1, Pages 43{57S 0273-0979(03)00993-5.
