    MLK Day of Service: 2nd Annual Poverty Action March and Essential Needs Drive

    Come out for a free hot kick-off breakfast, then participate in the Poverty Action March, beginning and ending at BHS. Rosalinda Guillen, Director of Community to Community Development, will speak at the kick-off breakfast.

    Free Breakfast: 10am @ Bellingham High School
    Poverty Action March: 11am @ Bellingham High School

    Then, participate in one of the service projects directly following the march. Service project options include:

    • Whatcom Volunteer Center Chore Program: Help low-income elderly in their homes by assisting with chores around the house and providing companionship.
    • Boys and Girls Club, Lummi Island: Take a free ferry ride out to Lummi Island and help paint a room in the club.
    • Boys and Girls Club, Blaine: Help paint a room in the Blaine club, and get creative! Trace Dr. Seuss characters on the walls of the room.
