  • Constitution Day Display

In recognition of Constitution Day on September 17, 2012, there is a display in the library including print and media resources, posters, and a bibliography on "The Constitution and the First Amendment." Libraries have always been closely tied to the First Amendment, particularly where freedom of speech is concerned: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."  In addition to bibliographies, there are also free Bill of Rights wallet cards and copies of the booklet The U.S. Constitution and Fascinating Facts about It.

The display will remain up until the end of September
