Join a 6-week College Success / New Student Orientation Course!

If you are new to WCC, we encourage you to enroll in Educational Planning 100: College Success: An Orientation for New Students (EDPL 100) during your first quarter of attendance. This 2-credit course is a perfect way to start your studies at WCC as you get to know the College, meet other students, and learn key strategies for success in school. The class focuses on fostering connections with other students and includes topics such as time management, financial literacy, degree planning, and more.

To best support you as you settle into college, EDPL 100 begins a few days before the rest of your classes, includes the Whatcom Wave new student orientation, and continues to meet through the first 6 weeks of the quarter.  The course is offered at a variety of days and times, including nights and Saturdays, to meet your scheduling needs.  Log into the MYWCC student portal, check WCC’s class schedule search tool online, or meet with an academic advisor for details, including specific dates and times for your class section.

What students say about EDPL 100:

“I made friends, got to have a constructive class with a cool teacher, and developed better learning skills.”

“I learned some very useful skills and gained info that I would have not otherwise had.”

“I learned how to balance my time more efficiently and constructively.”
