New Student Orientation


Are you new to Whatcom? It's time to catch The Whatcom Wave, WCC's new student orientation! In one half-day, you will learn about the wealth of resources and services available to you, like financial aid, advising,  student clubs, campus activities, and more. Students attending the new student orientation will also have the opportunity to meet other WCC students, instructors, and staff and get to know the campus before the first day of classes.


Choose from 5 Whatcom Wave Sessions this Fall 2015:

Join a 6-week College Success / New Student Orientation Course!

WCC will offer ten sections of EDPL 100 (College Success: An Orientation for New Students) in Fall 2015. This 2-credit course is a perfect way to start your studies at Whatcom Community College as you get to know the College, meet other students, and learn key strategies for success in school. Fall's EDPL 100 classes will begin early with a mandatory initial class meeting on Thursday, September 17, include the Whatcom Wave on Friday, September 18 (sections A-E) and Monday, September 21 (sections F-J), and run through the first 6 weeks of Fall Quarter. Check the MyWCC system or speak with an academic advisor for details, including specific dates for your class.

Student Success & Advising Handbook   

WCC's Student Success & Advising Handbook for the 2014-2015 school year is now available in PDF format. This handbook is the required textbook for EDPL 100 and is free to all WCC students. Download it here.
