ESL (English for Non-Native English Speakers)
WCC offers classes to adults in Whatcom County who want to improve skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English while also learning about American culture and our local community. The following classes are available quarterly:
- ESL core -Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking
- ESL Writing
- Career Exploration
Students on tourist, visitor or student visas are not eligible. Students with these visas should contact International Programs (360) 383-3240 or email email@example.com.
Tuition is $25 per quarter for students enrolled in ESL, ABE & GED classes on campus.
Orientation, Testing and Registration (required)
New students must attend an orientation before beginning ESL classes. ESL Orientation is by appointment only.
There are three step to beginning ESL classes:
- Come to Cascade Hall 167, Office of Transitional Learning (ESL office) to schedule an Orientation appointment.
- During your Orientation appointment you will learn about the ESL program, schedule and student expectations. If you choose to study in the ESL you will be given an appointment for testing & registration.
- The testing & registration involves CASAS placement testing and registering for ESL classes. The ESL program costs $25 a quarter due at orientation.
