ESL (English for Non-Native English Speakers)
WCC offers classes to adults in Whatcom County who want to improve skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English. Classes are offered at several locations. The following classes are available quarterly:
- Listening/Speaking
- Reading/Writing
- Job Skills
- Computer Skills (On-Campus Only)
- Short-Term Employment Classes (On-Campus Only)
- Family Literacy
- Civics
Students on tourist, visitor or student visas are not eligible. Students with these visas should contact International Programs (360) 383-3240 or email international@whatcom.ctc.edu.
Tuition & Fees
Tuition is $25 per quarter for students enrolled in ESL, ABE & GED classes on campus.
On-Campus Orientation and Registration (required)
New students must attend an orientation before beginning ESL classes. ESL Orientation is by appointment only.
- Come to Cascade Hall 167, Office of Transitional Learning (ESL office) to schedule an Intake appointment.
- During your Intake appointment you will be given an orientation date.
- Orientation involves placement testing and registering for classes. The ESL program costs $25 a quarter due at orientation.

Returning Students
