Student Update    

Welcome to Whatcom!
We are pleased to welcome 90 new international students to our campus from 18 different countries!
New student orientation, placement testing, advising, and registration for classes
Monday, September 8, 11:30am - Tuesday, September 15, 4:30pm
(Also Friday September 19 and 26, 12:00-1:00pm)
All new international students are required to attend all sessions.
Remember to:
   - Bring $ for lunch (or a sack lunch)
   - Bring Passport and I-20
   - Dress appropriately for the weather and for walking

Advising Hours  
September 16th - September 26th   9:00am - 4:00pm   Walk-in only – no appointments   
(adding/dropping classes and urgent immigration issues)

For assistance with long-term academic planning, university transfer, or questions that might take more than a few minutes to answer, students should make an appointment by phone or email. Appointments will be scheduled beginning September 29th.

NOTE:  International Students are REQUIRED by US immigration law to be full-time enrolled. 
Students MUST okay class changes with their advisor


Important Dates

August 25th   Tuition due for Fall Quarter

Sept. 11th       Tuition due for classes added between Aug. 25th and Sept. 11th     -->Be sure to check your schedule on OASIS to see if you have been added to a class from the waiting list during this time. If you have, then tuition is due for that class on Sept 11th!

Sept. 16th        Fall Quarter begins

Scenic drive over the Cascade Mountains to the small Western town of Winthrop.  Space is limited so sign up soon in the International Programs office!
Oct 11                  9am- 5pm                                   Whidbey Island Day Trip with the International Friendship Club
Sightseeing on Whidbey Island, then a short ferry ride to the quaint tourist town of Port Townsend.  Space is limited so sign up soon in the International Programs office!

WCC International Programs will communicate with students by email.  It’s very important to provide our office with an up-to-date email address and check email on a regular basis

 >>>> Health insurance  is required!
Please note: there will be an increase in the Lewer health insurance fee to $286.23 per quarter
All WCC international students are automatically enrolled in and billed for Lewer Health Insurance ($286.23 per quarter as of Fall 2014). If you purchased health insurance in your home country, you MUST provide the IP Office proof of the insurance before you register. We can then remove the WCC’s health insurance charge from your account.
