Film 120: Adaptations

Film 120 is an introduction and investigation into the study of literature and film, or the art of adaptation.  This encompasses the examination of the relationships between films and their source material and the times which produced them, the unique challenges of film adaptation in general, and ways of more fully appreciating literary and cinematic art.  The focus is neither exclusively on film nor written literature, but on learning to analyze and understand each form in its own and in relation to the other.  This course may also closely look at remakes and the generational shifts they mirror.
