Non-credit classes are open to the general public and extend beyond the range of Whatcom's regular instructional program. These courses are self-supporting and the cost of instruction plus overhead costs are covered by student fees. They do not carry credit applicable toward a Whatcom degree, nor do non-credit classes transfer to other institutions. No state tax monies are used for this program, residency is not required, and senior citizen discounts do not apply to self-supporting courses.
YOU MUST REGISTER PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS SESSION. If the minimum enrollment for a class is not met, the class will have to be cancelled. Your registration may make the difference, so early registration is encouraged.
Clock Hours For Teachers
Many of our classes are approved by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for clock hour certification. For further information, call Community Education at 360.383.3200.
Students with disabilities who need accommodation are encouraged to call 360.383.3200 before registering.
Classes are canceled only when Whatcom Community College is officially closed due to severe weather. If Whatcom is not closed, non-credit classes will meet as scheduled. Local radio stations covering school closures include KGMI 790 AM, KAFE 104.1 FM, and KPUG 1170 AM. Closure information will also be posted on the College's main public website.
