Description: A presentation focusing on the sub-Saharan African phenomenon of wearing clothing that is named for a message communicated in the fabric design. Using examples of cloth collected in Cote d'Ivoire and Europe the presentation will explain how the cloth is made, how it is named, and why it is worn.
