Mongolia, Chinggis Khan, and World History

Description: The spectacular conquests by the previously obscure tribe of Mongols in the 13th century under the leadership of Chinggis Khan and his sons and grandsons resulted in the largest land empire the world has ever seen. The talk surveys the reasons for the rise of Chinggis Khan and examines the positive as well as negative effects the creation of the Mongol Empire had on the various Medieval civilizations of Eurasia.
