Admission Requirements
Whatcom Community College welcomes applications from international students. Admission to the College involves meeting both academic requirements and visa requirements.
A complete application packet includes:
Required
- International Student Application for Admission
- Financial Documents
- High School and College Transcripts
Evaluation of International Transcripts - $35 U.S. non-refundable Application fee
(Check or money order payable to Whatcom Community College)
Recommended
- Photocopy of passport
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, STEP)
- One page essay written in English stating academic and career goals
Transfer students
(Students already studying in the U.S.)
Please submit these additional forms:
- WCC Transfer Form
- Photocopy of current I-20
- Photocopy of I-94
- Photocopy of Visa
- Transcript from current school
Complete application packets must be submitted by the application deadline of the quarter in which you wish to enroll--An incomplete application will delay the processing of your application materials and I-20. Students transferring from within the U.S. can apply up to the first day of the quarter. Mail complete application packet to:

Financial Documents
Proof of funds to cover living and educational expenses for the first year of study.
- Original financial documents such as bank statements from a checking or savings account must be less than six months old.
- Documents must be on official bank letterhead.
- Sponsors outside your immediate family must provide a letter of support along with financial documents.
Evaluation of International Transcripts
If you have studied at a university or college overseas, it may be possible to transfer your international credits to Whatcom Community College.
First, Credits are evaluated by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO),
Second, Credits are evaluated by Whatcom Community College.
