Pathways to Health Careers Program
Am I Eligible?
You must be enrolled in or planning on enrolling in a health program, legally able to work in the United States, and only ONE of the following:
- First Generation College Student- Student whose parents did not attend college
- Non-traditional Student- Student belonging to a gender that is in the minority in the industry (in health care- male)
- Student of Color
- Demonstrated financial need
All allied health students are eligible for study groups, workshops, and referrals. Even if you don't meet the above criteria for individual services, please feel free to contact Pathways.
What health programs does Pathways work with?
Pathways works with all healthcare programs, including
science pre-requisites.
- Health Bridge
- Health- IBEST
- Pre-requisite or support courses
- Introduction to Science
- Medical Terminology
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Basic Chemistry Concepts
- Medical Assisting/ Front Office/ Billing & Coding
- Massage Therapy
- Physical Therapy Assistant
- Registered Nursing
What services will I get?
You will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with the Pathways Academic Support Coordinator and the Pathways Advisor who will provide you with:
- Individual tutoring
- Individual career planning
- Individual education pathway planning
- Mentoring and academic coaching
- Occupational field trips and networking
- Financial advising
- Study Groups
- Workshops
- Referrals to other campus services and community services
- Limited book loans, study aids and supplies
- Limited tuition assistance
How do I sign up for Pathways?
- Step 1: Make an appointment with Pathways staff to review eligibility and to find out exactly what you need.
- Step 2: Fill out paperwork to enroll in the program
- Step 3: Start on your path to success!
