Whatcom Community College partners with many local employers who have agreed to give priority consideration to students who complete our program.
Typically, the Bridges to Employment classes will offer a combination of activities, including classroom instruction, practical hands-on activities, guest speakers, and field trips to local business.
Each student chooses from one of the following tracks:
Basic Office Clerical Support
This course is designed to provide the prospective office worker with the knowledge and opportunity to acquire the basic skills needed to meet the challenging demands of today's office. Business computing, office procedures, keyboarding, consumer relations and excellence and job search complete the coursework for this 12 week program. The emphasis is on seeking the first job, providing students with realistic, job-related experiences in completing office functions and offering suggestions for professional growth on the job.
