ESL (English for Non-Native English Speakers)
WCC offers classes to all adults in Whatcom County who want to improve skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English. Classes are offered at several locations. The following classes are available quarterly:
- Listening/Speaking
- Reading/Writing
- Job Skills
- Computer Skills (On-Campus Only)
- Short-Term Employment Classes (On-Campus Only)
- Family Literacy
- Civics

Tuition & Fees
Tuition is $25 per quarter for students enrolled in ESL classes on campus. Students may apply for a waiver of tuition, based on financial need.
On-Campus Orientation and Registration (required)
All new students who wish to take classes on-campus must first attend an Orientation session. (see schedule below)
Pre-registration is required. Please call (360) 383-3060 or stop by Cascade Hall 167, Office of Transitional Learning (ESL office) for a registration packet.
After orientation an additional 2-days may be required for placement testing to determine the student's level. The additional dates will be given during orientation. They are typically in the same week as the orientation.
ESL orientation is free. Classes are $25 a quarter. Waivers are available to eligible students.
