Student Orientation

Are you new to Whatcom? It's time to catch The Whatcom Wave, WCC's new student orientation! In one half-day, you will learn about the wealth of resources and services available to you, like financial aid, advising,  student clubs, campus activities, and more. Students attending the new student orientation will also have the opportunity to meet other WCC students, instructors, and staff and get to know the campus before the first day of classes.

Fall 2013 Whatcom Wave Dates:

• Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 9am to 1pm in the Syre Student Center
• Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 9am to 1pm in the Syre Student Center
• Monday, September 16, 2013 from 9am to 1pm in the Syre Student Center
• Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9am to 1pm in the Syre Student Center
• Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 9am to 1pm in the Syre Student Center

Invest In Your Success: Join a 6-week College Success/New Student Orientation Course!

WCC will offer (2) sections of EDPL 100 (College Success: An Orientation for New Students) in Spring 2013. This 2-credit course is a perfect way to start your studies at Whatcom Community College as you get to know the College, meet other students, and learn key strategies for success in school. Spring's EDPL 100 class will begin with a mandatory initial class meeting on Friday, March 29, 2013, includes the Whatcom Wave on Monday, April 1, 2013, and runs through the first 6 weeks of Spring Quarter. Check the OASIS/MYWCC system or speak with an academic advisor for details.

Student Success & Advising Handbook   

WCC's Student Success & Advising Handbook for the 2012-2013 school year is now available in PDF format.  This handbook is the required textbook for EDPL 100 and is free of charge to all WCC students.  Download it by clicking here.
