Students who are considering studying abroad should first contact Ulli Schraml, Associate Director of International Programs for Internationalization, by email or phone 360.383.3244 to make an appointment for an initial meeting.

The following is a general description of the application procedure for study abroad programs:



  • Prepare a list of questions for the Associate Director/Study Abroad Advisor
  • Schedule an appointment with the Associate Director/Study Abroad Advisor
  • Complete WCCCSA Preliminary Application



  • Fill out program application forms
  • Provide an unofficial copy of transcripts (with minimum GPA 2.5)
  • Write a one-page narrative about yourself, your interests, your goals, your expectations for study abroad
  • Provide two letters of recommendation (including one from a faculty member)
  • Bring all above listed documents to the interview including a check for the deposit
  • Apply for financial aid (optional)


Preparing for departure

  • Apply for a passport, or make sure your current passport is valid
  • Complete medical form
