Film 160: American Women Filmmakers


Film 160 introduces students to the work of selected artistically and historically significant American women filmmakers.  From the era of silent film to the present, students will learn about significant films and filmmakers, the contributions of those women directors to American cinema, study the historical and cultural conditions under which American women filmmakers worked, and develop methods of understanding and appreciating film art. The works studied for this course address a wide spectrum of human experiences and perspectives.
